Power Up with the Avocado Banana Smoothie
We're all busy doing our juggling acts and looking for that work-life balance. Sometimes you're just a little overwhelmed and can't seem to gather up enough strength to make yourself a healthy snack! So you grab your third coffee and gobble up some starchy, sugary abomination that's been hidden inside the cupboard. And you feel bad about it due to your lack of will power and the low-grade depression that ensues.
Well, next time you're in that 11AM or 3PM hunger mode, try making this Avocado and Banana Smoothie for a change. It takes less than 5 minutes to make and you'll feel satisfied and happy. Happy not only because of the nutrients in the smoothie, but also because you've just conquered another little moment in the day with the right decision.
If you're in the office, don't let it stop you from making a smoothie in the office kitchen. Just invest in a hand blender and bring the ingredients in the morning. This 3-in-1 hand blender is the one I have at home, I don't even have a stand-alone blender as I prefer a minimalist kitchen. You'll save the cash by limiting those impulsive latte and snack runs. Better yet, you can share it with your colleagues!
Avocado Banana Smoothie
- 1 Banana, peeled
- 1 Avocado, peeled and cored
- Milk/Soy Milk/Almond Milk/Cashew Milk
- A dash of honey or maple syrup
Put all the ingredients in a blending jar or a wide, tall glass and blend.
It doesn't get simpler than this. All it takes is a little bit of will power to treat your body right. My favorite glass is the Duralex Picardie, as shown in the picture (12 oz./350ml). It's made in France with tempered glass and it just doesn't break. I find them to be the best glasses for many reasons, more on this later on the blog. My kids both love this smoothie and my son nicknamed it the "green smoothie". It's like a green light signal for taking care of yourself and your family.
